In S/4 HANA is (in fact) obligation to have MRP Area defined for each subcontractor. This definition is part of the system customizing (OMIZ) and during creation of a such MRP Area it requires, among the other, entering of the Subcontractor ID . It means master data of the subcontractor (Business Partner -> Vendor) has to already exist.

Now I get reservation number. The reservation is also reflected in MD04 list with some MRP area filled. I want to know what is the basis of picking this MRP area by system. In material master in MRP-1 view, there are many MRP areas maintained ( under button- MRP areas). Also there are many MRP araas defined for this plant in config setting - OMIZ.

When we see the help (F1) of the field "Consider Planned Delivery Time" there is message that says "If the planned delivery time for the MRP area is to be used for the external procurement of material for the MRP area, you must set the value "Use Planned Delivery Time MRP Area". Otherwise, the planned delivery time of the plant will be used."

We are planning to implement MRP area. I understand that we need to first run OM0F/RMDBVM00 in order to convert the planning file entries. My question is for production environment. While running the above TCode/Program in Prod system, is downtime required? Please advise. Thanks.

For example, the materials are set up in the material master as Z16 which dictates that the supplier delivers on a Tuesday or Wednesday. And we have MRP delivery dates for NOT a Tues/Wed. This is not happening for all materials, and settings all appear to be okay. Any further insight would be greatly appreciated.
