The MLW RSC-13 was a type of diesel-electric locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works for use on Canadian National Railway (CN). Only thirty five RSC-13's were built — between 1955 and 1957 — and were numbered 1700–1734 by CN.

The ALCO RS-3 is a 1,600 hp (1.2 MW), B-B diesel-electric locomotive manufactured from May 1950 to August 1956 by American Locomotive Company (ALCO) and its subsidiary Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW).

CN was the only buyer of a unique MLW model, the RSC-13. The units were built with A-1-A trucks and intended for service on branchlines with light rail. Power came from the 1000 hp Alco 539 engine usually associated with switcher locomotives.

The MLW RS-23 was a 1,000 hp (746 kW) diesel-electric locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works between August 1959 and September 1960. Production totaled 40 locomotives.

We had the occasion to tour their old MLW RS13 switcher which is actually under repair and out of service for a while. When it will back in service, it will be painted in the quite nice CFS dark blue and silver paint scheme.
