Not really. The worst is the door locks and window actuators, which break in some number of pretty much every car. The airbag light also comes on in a lot of mk4's for various reasons. But there's not a lot of crazy Gremlins in this generation.

Apr 23, 2022 · Common on the mk4 is cayenne/touareg 4 and 6 pot brakes from brembo BBK. Can also convert rear to a dual rear caliper setup using 996 4 pots with the oem caliper and adapter brackets. Front uses mk4 R32 rotors (334mm) and the rear uses mk4 2.0 front rotors (280mm). Think I ended up putting in about $1k for my bbk.

Oct 9, 2022 · My golf mk4 gti recently started to jolt and lag under heavy/full acceleration and i don't know whats causing it. I've changed the spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter but to no succes. When you drive normally the problem doesn't occur, only when you press the accelerator hard.
