Jan 6, 2025 · The MK22 deployment kit comes with a 308, 300nm and 338 barrel kits. I'd personally rather shoot 6.5 over .308 and I'd never touch the 338 kit. I'd argue there is no fundamental benefit to the MK22 over the MRAD unless you care about the markings and cerakote. They are functionally the same.

Jun 23, 2022 · It is worth noting, the MLOK MRAD and the MK22 do run a slightly different style bolt/ bolt body vs older MRADs. I purchased an old style bolt body with non captured bolt retaining pin to be able to run the bolt from my old 6.5 barrel.

Nov 13, 2019 · Barrett does not currently sell the additional MK22 barrel kits but the newer MRAD barrel kits will work (the barrel part number starts with "18"). I picked up the .308 24" barrel kit on sale for $1250 from Barrett. Big Daddy Unlimited looks to have the best prices on MRAD magazines (the 300NM and 338NM use the same magazine).

Jan 10, 2023 · The Mk22 MRAD has an entirely different suppressor. If you are looking for something other than Barrett, hands down, the CGS Hekate is my favorite for .338 / 8.6 BLK, followed by the TBAC line. For Hekate, the normal thread pattern is 3/4", but you can request other thread patterns.

Feb 25, 2021 · Add my 2-c. I have come to love the MRAD when the Mk22 was selected. The MRAD was designed from the ground up to be a barrel swap gun. The AIMX does a great job, as does the Cadex Kraken. I find the MRAD to be the most friendly for barrel swaps, as the need for additional hardware is minimal. There is no real bolt change needed.

Jan 23, 2018 · USSOCOM Barrett MRAD MK22 comes with a "lowly" Harris S series bipod for use with 308W, 300/338NM. SOCOM could have selected any bipod they deemed best. I've used Harris and Atlas bipods and Accu-Shot rear monopod on every MRAD caliber available, except 260Rem...went with 6.5CM instead, without any issues.

Jan 23, 2018 · M-Lok, bag rider, vertical adjustable butt pad are features only on the MRAD MK22 MOD 0 version as on 6/20. Appears they will be migrating to civy models at undefined time. Also, includes the "toggle lever" bolt disassembly, 10MIL vs 20MOA rail.

Aug 12, 2020 · I have an MRAD chambered in 300 PRC and 6.5 CM and would like to find a suppressor that fits the factory brake. EuroOptic has a Barrett MK22 high temp C series suppressor - 17434-kit. Not sure if this suppressor is specific to the MK22. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mar 4, 2021 · The mk22 with 1/8 twist is what was spec'd by Army contract. Pretty sure on one of the podcasts Frank had mentioned that the Army has had some issues with 1/8 and 300norma spinning bullets apart. 1/10 is plenty and 1/9 is great too.
