The MG TB is a classic British sports car produced by MG (Morris Garages) from 1939 to 1940. It is part of the T-Type, which was known for its sporty design and driving dynamics. The TB featured a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder engine that produced around 54 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.

3 days ago · The MG TB was presented in the year 1939 as successor of the MG TA. The TB was the last pre war MG T-type 'Midget'. The design was identical to the TA with it's elegantly flowing wings, and large 19" wire wheels.

The TB engine was altogether more appealing to the MG fraternity because it was capable of far more tuning than the old TA engine and was much more reliable into the bargain. Everything the TA engine lacked, the TB engine had in its favour.

The MG TB Midget. In the summer of 1939, as the war clouds were gathering, MG announced the TB Midget. In terms of chassis and body options it was essentially the same as the TA, but the TB had a new engine which was a 1250cc, ohv, four-cylinder unit.

The TB Midget was powered by a smaller 1,250cc straight-four cylinder (XPAG) engine that had a 2.6-inch bore and a 3.5-inch stroke. Although smaller than its predecessor, it was modern and delivered 54 horsepower at 5,200 RPM.

This 1939 MG TB is one of a reported 57 examples built with Tickford three-position drophead coupe bodywork during less than a year of production and left the factory en route to Newport Pagnell coachbuilder Salmons & Sons on July 4, 1939.
