The Minnesota Association of Centers for Independent Living (MACIL) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to advocate for a statewide network of independent living services and supports for Minnesotans with disabilities throughout the State.

Metropolitan Center for Independent Living (MCIL) was founded in 1981. There are approximately 612,000 people with disabilities in Minnesota, with about 50% residing in the Twin Cities seven-county metropolitan area, which MCIL serves. These counties include Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.

MCIL is a Twin Cities metro-based, non-profit 501.c.3 consumer-directed organization founded in 1981. MCIL is dedicated to the full promotion of the Independent Living (IL) philosophy by supporting individuals with disabilities in their personal efforts to pursue self-directed lives.
