
MLW M-636 - Wikipedia
The M-636 is a six-axle, 3,600 hp diesel locomotive marketed as part of the Montreal Locomotive Works six-axle "M-Line" series of locomotives. It was an evolution of the ALCo C636, and it saw many sales to Canadian, Mexican and Australian customers. Today, there are a handful M-636s left in revenue service.

Feb 16, 2009 · The M630/M636 and the Alco C630/C636 were very low production units with lots of electrical issues in the control cabinet, and even to things like the traction motor blowers, and the central air intake gear.

MLW M636 CP 4723 is seen in a park in Farnham in 2009. While it is not in great shape in this photo, it has gotten much, much worse since. The caboose behind it was scrapped a couple of years later as it was in such bad shape.

CP Rail MLW M636 4743 was resting in Baltimore's CSX/MARC Riverside shops awaiting its next assignment. Built in 1970 and classified as a DRF-36d, the 4743 would make it to 1995 before being retired.
