Iran wore West German supplied M62 steel helmets through the 1970s to date. A good Iranian used helmet will have either the Iranian Military symbol painted on the side or an Iranian solider’s name in Farsi inside.

After the Iran Iraq War, the Iranian military continued to use M62 helmets, and refurbished them with a new liner and new style of chinstrap.

Iran M62 Iran purchased thousands of Bundeswehr (West German) M62 helmets in the 1970's during the Shahs reign, some were given Iranian made liners and sand painted, others like this example retained the original colour but added was an Iranian made chinstrap, though the hardware was reused.
