The M60-2000/120S was a GDLS supplied conversion kit that married the turret of the M1A1 variant of the M1 Abrams to the M60A1 hull of the M60, offering many features of the M1A1 Abrams to existing M60 users at a reduced cost.

The M60 is an American second-generation main battle tank (MBT). It was officially standardized as the Tank, Combat, Full Tracked: 105-mm Gun, M60 in March 1959. [1] Although developed from the M48 Patton, the M60 tank series was never officially christened as a Patton tank.

The 120S was introduced in Update "Alpha Strike" and while looking like a compressed M1 Abrams, it is a hybrid of capabilities between the M1A1 Abrams and the M60.

The 120S is a unique product that integrates the M1A1 120-mm turret, equipped with a 240X4 Forward Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR), onto a fully modernized M60 chassis.

In the designation 120S the 120 represents the 120 mm smoothbore gun and the S represents speed and survivability. The M60 part of the designation is no longer considered relevant as so much of the tank is new and in appearance it is very similar to the M1A1 Abrams.

Feb 29, 2024 · The M60-120S was a prototype vehicle developed by GDLS (General Dynamics Land Systems) between 2000 and 2001 as a suggestion to modernise the fleet of outdated M60s MBT present in many Middle-Eastern countries at the time. Development fully started in December 2000, and in August 2001 GDLS rolled its first prototype.
