The M60 105 mm howitzer cartridge is a U.S. artillery shell that carried a chemical agent, specifically one of the sulfur mustard agents. [1] [2]

The M60 is an American second-generation main battle tank (MBT). It was officially standardized as the Tank, Combat, Full Tracked: 105-mm Gun, M60 in March 1959. [1] Although developed from the M48 Patton, the M60 tank series was never officially christened as a Patton tank.

The M60 was used with M2A1, M2A2, M4, M4A1, and M49 howitzers to disperse a casualty-producing agent for use against enemy personnel. This round was assembled with the M60 smoke shell which resembled the HE shell in outward appearance.

The M1 and M60 projectiles had the same contour while the M67 HE AT, the M84 base-ejecting smoke, and T16 illumination projectiles were unique. The T18 canister was apparently cylindrical. (Information on this round is scant.)
