Dec 12, 2009 · The non vanos m50b25 pistons have a shallow dish and they sit about .6mm above the deck at top dead center. However the M50b25tu (vanos) pistons are flat top and sit about .1mm above the bore at top dead center. This gives them a piston to head clearance of 1.65mm with the stock head gasket.

Apr 14, 2012 · The M50TUB25 cylinder head will bolt right on to a M52B28. I actually have a M50TUB25 head on my S52B32 or S52. Changing the cylinder head between cars really won't add any power.

Mar 14, 2024 · I have M50b25 sub-assemby. Im thinking of bolting on M50b20 head with M52b28 cams (intake and exhaust). Im expecting more power than a stock b25 engine.I haven’t done this mod before but i have done a thorough research and found that theoretically its possible.

Aug 18, 2009 · You would be FAR better off with an M52B25 than an M50B25 (non-TU). The reason that the M52B25 makes less HP is because of the restrictive exhaust. At least, if you swap exhausts, you can make around 180whp with a stock 2.5.

Aug 29, 2019 · But.... are the m50’s basically the same block and head? I’m looking to build a forged m50 turbo lump, rods and pistons with possibly cams and valves too... but the m50b25 engines seem sparse and more expensive to buy than a m50b20 for example.
