The M4 carbine (officially Carbine, Caliber 5.56 mm, M4) is a 5.56×45mm NATO assault rifle developed in the United States during the 1980s. It is a shortened version of the M16A2 assault rifle.

The M4 Command and Control Vehicle (C2V) is a command post vehicle of US origin. It was developed in the mid 1990's to replace the M577 series of command post vehicles in US military service.

The M4 C2V uses a 10 m telescoping mast and has a primary power pack, environmental control unit and NBC overpressure system integrated into the mission equipment enclosures.
