Jun 1, 2014 · Almost Finished my Retro M16A1 Build. It's mostly retro parts from 1967-1979 M16A1 but I tried to keep close to the early 1967-68 with the three prong flash hider.

Sep 1, 2010 · Well, I finished my retro XM177E2 / CAR15 lightweight Carbine! Talk about a nice, lightweight weapon!!! With the standard M16A1 birdcage FH on the 16" barrel, it weighed in at 5.7 lbs. empty on the postal scale. :D My heavier "reverse" slip over XM177 flash Hider needs the rear blast washer re-attached before I mount it.

And has the honor of being the rifle pointed at one of our more "illustrious" politicians from Saskatchewan, Colin Thatcher, when he was arrested for killing his wife. I wanted the Vietnam era look, so I changed out the flash hider, butt and a couple other smaller bits.

In order to use magazines with a capacity of greater than 10 rounds in Kalifornia, it must be a "Featureless" build: i.e. NO pistol grip, no collapsible stock, no EVIL flash hider. It is a JD Machine A2 lower, M16A1 upper, including BCG, ER Shaw 16" 1/9 twist barrel, Wilson Combat Comp muzzle brake, pinned 4 position Fiberlite stock (pinned open)
