Jun 10, 2004 · IC Technology's M11 Merc was the cover gun. There are four models, the M11 Standard, M11 Recon, M11 Merc, and X1 Spy. The X1 Spy is the baby of the bunch (it's a subcompact). From Ichiro Nagata's pictures, the ergonomics on these pistols look good, although DefRev hasn't handled them yet.

The M11 Merc employed a novel gas-delayed action. That mechanism tapped a bit of gas from the barrel and used it against a piston to slow down and buffer the reciprocating slide. The new RIA 5.0 is something else entirely.

Mar 4, 2018 · As of today, I just noticed that the website is back up and it appears that he is advertising a new version of the M11 Merc he marketed back in 2003. This new version looks like it has a fixed barrel and appears to borrow design aspects from his Proton X1.

Jun 29, 2004 · I saw a picture of a pistol in a magazine a while back called the M11 Merc made by Craig Ltd. out of Inman Kansas. Does anyone know anything about this pistol? Better yet does anyone own one and care to give their thoughts about it?

Jan 1, 2023 · Nearly two decades ago, gunsmith/designer Fred Craig teased a new pistol design - the gas-delayed M11 Merc. Alas, this turned out to be vaporware. In the mean time, Craig has done a fair amount of prototype work for Armscorp (Rock Island Armory).

Aug 31, 2007 · Is anyone here familiar with, own, or have shot an IC Technology pistol and care to comment on it? Anyone? I recall reading about this gun a few years ago. Basically it's 100% custom made by Fred Craig, and cost several thousand dollars. I never heard of anyone owning one, and I'd be surprised if there were more than a dozen sold.
