Originally designed to provide heavy fire support for armoured forces by the United States Army, the M109G should be played in a similar role in War Thunder. Stick close to allies, and act as manually-aimed artillery, engaging enemies while they are distracted.

It has about half of the armour of the M109’s (15mm RHA compared to 32mm Aluminium alloy), No smokes and a .50, despite these differences they have the same top speed. Good job doing a ranking and admiting you might have an involuntary bias. Many people wont admit that.

Feb 4, 2024 · In the Kings of Battle update, the Snail added the M109 Paladin and its variants to five nations: The US, UK, Italy, Germany, and Israel. The Israel tech tree has two: the M109G (the German variant) and the Roschev (I believe the American variant). I have mixed feelings about it.

It doesn't matter what you bring against the M109... My KV-220, 76 Jumbo, IS-2 Revenge, Tiger E, King Tigers... all have been rendered useless. Don't bother attempting to destroy the things with APCBC or APHEBC, and when you use HE, they seem to survive far too well. Edit: GREAT video with the nuke!

Dec 28, 2024 · Yes, the M109G is a good vehicle. It is exactly the same as the other M109s but with a shorter barrel, so it is harder for someone to break your barrel. You need to aim for thin areas on enemy tanks to kill them with HE slingers, though.

Mar 22, 2024 · This M109G is the German variant of the M109 which has a wedge mechanism (not a bottom screw). When the hulls came to Norway, the pipes and mechanism were made here. The main differences were the wedge mechanism, pipes and the muzzle brake. Other minor modifications were also made.
