Nov 14, 2022 · We present deep, narrowband imaging of the nearby spiral galaxy M101 and its satellites to analyze the oxygen abundances of their HII regions. Using CWRU's Burrell Schmidt telescope, we add to the narrowband dataset of the M101 Group, consisting of H α, H β, and [OIII] emission lines, the blue [OII] λ 3727 emission line for the first time.

May 11, 2021 · We present deep, narrowband imaging of the nearby spiral galaxy M101 and its group environment to search for star-forming dwarf galaxies and outlying HII regions.

In this paper, we present new spectroscopic observations of 28 H ii regions in M101, and are able to derive direct oxygen abundances for a subset of 10. This new dataset allows us to address the possibility of a non-axisymmetric distribution of the nebular oxygen abundance in this galaxy.

Feb 1, 2022 · I did some captures of the stronger Ha narrowband galaxies M51, M82, M101 and M106 and reprocessed them, focusing only on that. I did keep the apparent sizes for comparison and only now I see that M51 is really not that big in apparent size.
