The Lykoi (commonly called wolf cat or werewolf cat) is a breed of cat derived from a natural mutation causing a form of hypotrichia (e.g. congenital alopecia) [1] found in domestic short-haired cats. The mutation has occurred in domestic cats over the last 20 years.

The Lykoi cat, often referred to as the “werewolf cat” due to its unique and striking appearance, is a relatively new and rare breed of domestic cat. The Lykoi cat breed began to develop in 2010 when two separate natural mutations occurred in domestic cat populations.
