I see so many comparisons of Xfce and LXDE, and they all seem to basically say the same thing: LXDE is slightly lighter, but Xfce is more "polished." But what exactly are LXDE's disadvantages? Aside from eyecandy/prettiness, anything that would make it less convenient/comfortable to use on a day-to-day basis?

Though it may not be as feature-rich as some of the other environments, LXDE is still highly functional and easy to use. Pros: – Low system requirements (CPU and RAM usage are minimal) – Offers access to many customization options. – Offers a simple menu system. Cons: – By default, it is limited in terms of user-friendly features.

Modern looking yet exceptionally light on it’s feet. Complies to free desktop standards. Cons. Discussion. For a while I preferred LXDE to XFCE.
