Founded in 1958, Leicester Underwater Exploration Club (LUEC) is one of the largest scuba diving and snorkelling clubs in the East Midlands. Affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua Club ( BSAC ) - the UK’s leading dive club and national governing body, we are an award-winning branch with an active membership base.

Learn to snorkel with LUEC Our BSAC qualified snorkel instructor has over 40 years' experience training individuals and groups aged eight years or above. Training can be tailored to you and your needs and will be carried out at a pace comfortable for you.

To undertake this course (with LUEC) you must be a minimum of 14 years old and comfortably swim 200m in a pool. As part of the training you will: learn how to use basic dive gear, including a mask and snorkel. learn how to control your buoyancy and underwater movements.

LUEC is an inclusive Club with a healthy membership base of 40 individuals of all ages and water-related experiences. Just under a third (32%) of our members are female - higher than the national BSAC average.

Being in a club offers you the chance to go on dive trips both in the UK and abroad. Many clubs, including LUEC have their own boats, which gives us the flexibility to choose different locations depending on the dive objective, weather and diver skills.

On Wednesday 16th April LUEC will be completing a 12hr marathon scuba dive. Throughout the 12 hours of diving there will always be at least one pair of diver under the water. What is even better is our second home Stoney Cove are supporting us!
