Nov 4, 2009 · My truck freakin' loves Delo 400! I tried Chevron Delo 15W-40 for the first time w/usual Motorcraft oil filter. The engine is definitely quieter, idles/runs more smoothly. It's not my imagination, I know this truck...I've driven it for 8 yrs now. I've always used Rotella T 15W-40. I've run Delo in my 05 Duramax since new, but never the 7.3.

Apr 28, 2017 · Delo has removed a lot of what made the oil great in the past to comply with the CK-4 specification. Mobil did as well. The only "approved" oils on the Ford interactive list are Shell Rotella and Valvoline Premium Blue.

May 22, 2019 · My late-99 7.3 has always run Delo 400 LE 15w40. I know Chevron updated to CK-4 standard (Delo 400 SDE) and its not on Ford’s “approved” list. A lot of others that meet CJ-4 are, so do I switch, and to what?
