Since 2015 I have focused on printmaking, and in particular work in relief printing with lino and in screen printing. I studied printmaking at Leith School of Art and I’m a member at Edinburgh Printmakers.

I’m Lou! I’m an artist and printmaker. You can find me in my home studio, messing about with screen prints (and occasionally other forms of printmaking), or at my drawing table, making simple, detailed works in fine liner and watercolour.

Abstract Lino Prints I create abstract relief prints, often using Japanese vinyl to get fine lines and detail into my works. I use the reduction printmaking technique where layers are cut away in between printing each colour from the same block.

Lou Davis is an Edinburgh based printmaker and artist. She has exhibited drawings, prints and mixed media work throughout the UK. Since 2015 she has focused on printmaking, and in particular work in relief printing with lino and in screen printing.

Lou Davis is an Edinburgh based printmaker and artist. She is drawn to pattern, repetition and complexity. Each work begins with drawing; creating rubrics to follow which turn simple ink lines into complex structures. These drawings are then developed into screen prints, lino prints, and more recently, watercolour paintings.
