Melissa's passion for dance began at the age of 3, with Miss Lisa as her first ballet teacher at Laura Lynn School of Dance. She also danced pre-professionally starting at the age of 12 and trained at La Roche University, Point Park University and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
