I would ask you to uninstall the usb drive from the device manager and then restart the computer and re-insert the hard drive and check. Browse to the Universal Serial Bus controllers in the device manager and right click on the drive and click uninstall and restart the computer. Once the computer is restarted connect the usb drive and check.

If not, there are 3 unrecoverable errors we get on flash drives 'Write Protected', 'Insert Disk' and 'You need to format the disk'. You will find 'fixes' all over the Internet, none of them work, sadly the drive cannot be repaired

Jan 5, 2014 · The screen flashes (refreshes?) about every 5 seconds. Looking at Windows Explorer, I see the drive pop up and disappear, about every 5 seconds. Same thing when I go to the Disk Management screen in Control Panel>Admin Tools> etc. The Lexar drive works fine in other W7 and XP computers. Other USB devices work fine in the desktop computer.

Jul 3, 2024 · I'm trying to troubleshoot for my father-in-law who has a fairly new (4-5 years old) HP running Windows 11. His six flash drives (one Lexar, the rest SanDisk, ranging from 1-128 GB) have stopped being recognized on the Windows computer, but they all still work fine on his MacBook. Yesterday one was still working, but now none of the six works.
