In Greek mythology, the name Leucus or Leukos (Ancient Greek: Λεῦκος "white") may refer to: Leucus, son of the bronze giant Talos of Crete and foster son of King Idomeneus.

Leucus is a dark Jupiter trojan asteroid in a 1:1 orbital resonance with Jupiter. It is located in the leading Greek camp at Jupiter's L 4 Lagrangian point, 60 ° ahead of its orbit (see Trojans in astronomy).

Jun 1, 2018 · We present new observations from 2016 of two Jupiter Trojan asteroids that are targets for the Lucy Discovery mission. The extremely long rotation period of (11351) Leucus is confirmed and refined to a secure value of 445.732 ± 0.021 hr with photometric parameters of H {sub r} = 11.046 ± 0.003 and G {sub r} = 0.58 ± 0.02 in the SDSS r′ filter.

Sep 24, 2021 · We present observations of five stellar occultations for (11351) Leucus and reports from two efforts on (21900) Orus. Both objects are prime mission candidate targets for the Lucy Discovery mission. Combined results for Leucus indicate a very dark surface with pV = 0.037 ± 0.001, which is derived from the average of the multichord occultations.

We present results from three new stellar occultation observations of Lucy mission target (11351) Leucus. The long-period high-amplitude lightcurve indicates a tri-axial ellipsoid but the occultation shows the shape is more complex than might be expected.
