Opinion, the asking price for the after market turret works for me, if I was spec’ing a Tamiya Leopard 1A4 f/o kit custom conversion build to a 1A5.

Apr 4, 2023 · Now, the Bundeswer sold off most of their leopard 1a5 modernized old leopard 1 tanks. The only countries that got vertical grill A5s are Turkey, Greace and Norway. Norway has a cool cammo pattern and a big tool box on the glacis for the grousers so I am going to pry off the grouser part on the front and build that box and paint the norway pattern.

Apr 10, 2023 · Then a standard henglong ball bearing trany I used in my tamiya leopard 1 build. Then the Red Ultimate II tranys I put in the Tamiya Leopard 1 build, they blew their bearings. Then the left trany in this hooben 1a5 had its bearings fall apart in the trany. I bought new bearings from fast eddy or semi joe and installed them.

Feb 25, 2020 · Leopard 1 and 2 hatches are really close if not the same and I have both Leopard 1&2 hatch’s sitting in my parts bin that can be easily fitted. The basket options are nice but I would be fine with printed ones to start if that moves the availablity ahead sooner.

Apr 4, 2023 · I have received my Leopard 1a5 yesterday. Packed extremely well as Hooben does. Everything was braced very well and nothing was damaged even though the very strong box took some hits. I ordered an extra set of track so they cut a section out of the white foam to fit that in the box and keep it secure from floating around and breaking anything.

Aug 20, 2021 · Now nearly all the Leopard 1a5 (moderized 1a1-1a2 round turret) tanks are basically gone from Germany. They have sold them off to friendly countries long ago with the last lots going to Canada when they rebuilt their Leo1s into the C2 and eventually the MEXAS monster and then the last group to Chile to replace the aging Sherman fleet.
