The LAV-25 (Light Armored Vehicle) is a member of the LAV II family. [4] It is an eight-wheeled amphibious armored reconnaissance vehicle built by General Dynamics Land Systems and used by the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army.

The LAV-L is an all-terrain, all-weather vehicle with night capabilities designed for the provision of ammunition, rations and POL (petroleum, oil and lubricant) supplies required to sustain operations of foward LAV units. It is air transportable via C-130, C-141, C-5 and CH-53 E.
