Jul 8, 2015 · I use the lanolin that looks like paste wax. I put several ounces in a pan over boiling water to melt it and then mix it with a bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol from CVS. After mixing if completely dissolved I add more lanolin until the mixture is saturated where the lanolin is coming out of solution and settling to the bottom.

Dec 11, 2016 · I started using the infamous bootleg case lube, one 12oz bottle of Heet (red bottle is 99% isopropol alcohol) and one oz of liquid lanolin in a spray bottle. Spray 2-3 shots into a large bag, dump a lot of brass in, roll brass around in bag, dump out into cardboard box lid to dry a few min, dump into case feeder, load and shoot.

Dec 18, 2016 · 99.9+%, IPA is Reagent grade which helps with dissolving the lanolin into the solution. 91% works but it won't dissolve the lanolin quite as easily. You can heat the 91% IPA up a little to help, but be careful as it is flammable. Also, the type of lanolin used (oil, gel, etc.) makes a difference as to how fast it dissolves.

Dec 11, 2016 · I mix mine pretty lanolin heavy and it feels like the brass isn't even being sized it's so smooth. I tumble in very fine corn for half hour and it's all gone and the brass glistens! For me that's a couple of extra steps I don't want to do (tumble and separate media), besides, I gave my vibratory tumbler away a couple of years ago.

Sep 30, 2013 · Unicorn Power Scour is the absolute ticket for removing lanolin when wet tumbling. Hot water and a small amount of power scour - tumble for a couple of minutes, rinse and then tumble again as normal with lemishine and another small dose of power scour as per normal.

Nov 22, 2012 · The lanolin OIL and isopropyl should also be shaken prior to use, but there won't be clumps. They higher the alcohol content the better. I've tried 91% isopropyl, but I was not pleased with the results. I've had no issues with 1 ounce of lanolin OIL mixed with one 12 ounce bottle of "ISO-Heet" (fuel line antifreeze).

Mar 9, 2020 · Being that Lanolin (liquid) is so hard to find without having to order it on line, the Hornady "UNIQUE" is available most anywhere in most gun stores with reloading supplies. (and its alot cheaper than lanolin) One other lube recipe i`ve been playing around with, is Castor oil and 99% alcohol. I`ve noticed the Castor oil stays mixed very well.

Sep 26, 2022 · 9 oz 99% ISO alcohol, 1 oz lanolin. Spray a couple times in ziploc, add brass, zip up, shake for a minute, pour out. The alcohol will be gone in minutes or less.

Feb 18, 2025 · I only use pure lanolin on all rifle brass using one shot is a guarantee to stick a case!!! a pea size drop of lanolin rub between palms and roll a few cases between your palms repeat as needed. Never stick a case again and the press runs SMOOTH
