A rough gradient of decreasing size and mass exists as one moves further south in the gray langur distribution (Roonwal 1981; Napier 1985; Ray 2000).

This research investigates the abnormal mating behaviors exhibited by Tufted Gray Langurs (Semnopithecus priam) in the Kalakad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu. Observations made in December 2006 reveal these langurs engaging in unusual mating interactions with female Bonnet Macaques, particularly when female langurs were absent.
