Lang Dulay (August 3, 1928 – April 30, 2015) was a Filipino traditional weaver who was a recipient of the National Living Treasures Award. She is credited with preserving her people's tradition of weaving T'nalak, a dyed fabric made from refined abaca fibre. [1]

Lang Dulay knows a hundred designs, including the bulinglangit (clouds), the bankiring (hair bangs), and the kabangi (butterfly), each one special for the stories it tells. Using red and black dyes, she spins her stories with grace.

Lang Dulay’s works as a t’nalak weaver is said to to be acknowledged by the GAMABA Awards for its contribution in preserving her tribes identity and history through her weaved t’nalak cloths that are made with very intricate designs or pattern which represents a part of her tribe’s story.

Lang Dulay is considered as a T'nalak Master Weaver who knows more than a hundred designs including the bulinglangit (clouds), the bankiring (hair bangs), and the kabangi (butterfly), among others. She was taught by her mother to weave and started weaving since she was 12 years old.

Apr 30, 2015 · Lang Dulay was born on August 3, 1928 and was taught to weave at the young age of 12 by her mother, Luan Senig. She was a T'boli princess from the region of Lake Sebu in South Cotabato. She was known for making designs which is preserves the traditional motifs in T'nalak weaving despite the commercialization and modernization of the craft.
