
LAN Airlines officially retires its last A318 from active service
LAN Airlines (Santiago de Chile) has now officially phased out its last remaining A318-100 CC-CZR (c/n 3635), ch-aviation can confirm. The aircraft had been used to ply Chilean domestic routes and will now be replaced by the larger A319-100.

Jul 11, 2023 · The main reason the A318 failed to meet expectations, was the unavailability of the originally planned motor (PW6000). Don’t recall exactly what went wrong with it, but they ended up having to sling CFM-56s on the frame instead.
