Oct 25, 2017 · COMPARISON WITH OTHER LAMY PENS: The Aion is a completely different pen than the Safari/Al-Star/LX and the Studio. The nib and feed are different as is the size and weight. The Aion weighs slightly more than the LX, Al-Star, Studio or Lamy 2000. It is wider than the Studio and Lamy 2000, but comparable to the Safari/Al-Star/LX.

Jan 7, 2024 · Interestingly, the Lamy Nexx has a perfect seal, just as good as the Preppy. The curious thing is that the liner cap looks similar. I love the Aion. It conveys a great sense of quality, especially the section, with that well constructed thread. I bought the Lamy Aion at the same time as the Pelikan M200.

Nov 16, 2024 · I've had a blue Lamy Aion with a medium nib for a year now. Overall, I am satisfied with the pen, I have used it almost every day. I bought it because I was attracted by the design and the nib. About this one, I must say that it has met all my expectations, it is a very different nib from the Z50's and writes very smoothly.

Oct 15, 2018 · When the Aion was released Lamy made a big deal of it being a brand new nib design - although it looks like the Safari nib superficially, they're not interchangeable. So it's not surprising unfortunately!

Jul 31, 2018 · I think the Lamy Aion is often considered to be the black sheep of their fountain pens family. Despite that, I have always maintained the opinion that the Aion is the perfect continuation of Lamy design language albeit adapt to modern and sleeker form to appeal contemporary customers.

Jan 9, 2020 · This is Lamy's Aion, not the Dialog, not the Imporium , not the 2000. I do not have a problem with slightly funky $50-75 pens. Add an order of magnitude to the price and the next level of sophistication and, yes, I'd be demanding to talk to management about my satisfaction.

May 19, 2017 · Most of Lamy's pens (except for the 2000) are too slim for me or have a triangular grip section (Safari) which I don't like at all. The Studio was a nice pen if it hadn't that slippery chrome grip and the bulging clip.
