New Routemaster EV

The New Routemaster, originally referred to as the New Bus for London and colloquially as the Borismaster or Boris Bus, is a low-floor hybrid diesel–electric double-decker bus operated in London, England.

Nov 1, 2022 · LT11 is a New Routemaster (aka New Bus for London, aka Boris bus) which usually runs on route 390 between Victoria and Archway, through the congested streets of Zone 1. It is the first one that has been converted from diesel hybrid power to electric.

The electrification specialist unveiled the New Routemaster at the Euro Bus Expo this week. Developed in Norfolk, its hybrid drivetrain has been replaced with Equipmake’s Zero Emission Drivetrain (ZED), which uses 95% British-built components.

At Euro Bus Expo in November 2022, the Norfolk-based electric vehicle manufacturer Equipmake unveiled the first electric New Routemaster going through an electric bus conversion with Metroline operated bus numbered LT11. It was displayed at an event with its hybrid system removed and replaced by fully electric motors.
