You can get them through the wheel wells. Remove the up pipe bolts on the turbo with 12mm 12point. Remove oil line. Remove bolts that hold turbo to block.

Mar 25, 2015 · The vanes close to increase exhaust pressure to help spool up the turbo, so at wot the vanes are 0%/wide open because the rpm's are up and there is plenty of exhaust pressure to spin the turbo and build boost, the vanes closing at wot would incur an over boost condition.

The truck is almost at 200k miles, I've had Rob's (max effort, stock injector/turbo, built trans) tunes for a number of years. Did some sled pulling with it, but unlikely we'll be doing that in the future.

Jan 22, 2010 · ECM utilizes a turbo vane control solenoid and a turbo vane position sensor to control the turbo vanes. when engine is not under load, the turbo vanes are in an open position, or no boost condition. when engine is under load, the ECM commands the Control solenoid valve to close the trubo vanes. thus increasing the boost.
