Jan 28, 2019 · A relatively new single-use, silicone-made, laryngeal mask airway, the LMA ® Protector TM (Teleflex Medical Europe, Westmeath, Ireland) 1 has been recently introduced (Fig. 1), combining a pharyngeal chamber and dual gastric drainage channels.
More recently the extension of LMA fiber technology to eyesafe wavelengths and in particular highly efficient Tm-doped fibers has seen the development of a new operating window for high power fiber lasers at 2μm.
As examples, we demonstrate both grating based oscillators and monolithic power amplifiers using fiber-coupled diode pumps, TFB pump couplers and Tm-doped LMA fiber technology all delivering >100W output power with slope efficiencies of 55-60%.
