Pennsylvania RR #7688 was built by Lima Locomotive Works in September 1915. She was one of 445 H10s class 2-8-0 Consolidations built for the Pennsy and one of 45 to eventually receive automatic stokers. She is equipped with a 80P81a class tender.

The H10 class was primarily built for the PRR's Lines West, and so that will be my personal focus as the Chartiers branch fell under that region. After the 4-6-0 G5, the H10 was probably the second most-often-seen engine on the branch line.

BLI and MTH both will produce PRR H10s - guess what is next.
Jun 2, 2015 · Just received a BLI HO PRR H10 2-8-0 and think it is great product for 310.00 plus S&H. MTH is going to introduce their version soon. Think this subject was chosen to model because the PRR E6 Atlantic and the PRR G5 ten wheeler used the same boiler.

Oct 19, 2014 · Went up to Hobby Express on Sat. to check out the newly arrived BLI PRR H10s. They actually look pretty good...I mean better than I expected. I'd rate the overall look at about 98%.

The H10s class was built primarily for PRR Lines West (from Pittsburgh to Chicago), and featured a typical "Lines West" tender mod. 80F81a (or 80P81a) with sloping side coal boards at the top, to enable a bigger load of coal to be carried.
