The persimmon (/ pərˈsɪmən /) is the edible fruit of a number of species of trees in the genus Diospyros. The most widely cultivated of these is the kaki persimmon, Diospyros kaki [1] – Diospyros is in the family Ebenaceae, and a number of non-persimmon species of the genus are grown for ebony timber.

Diospyros kaki ‘Kuro Gaki’ is a distinctive persimmon from China with unusual glossy blue-black fruit (seen in our photo part way through its deepening of colour) that is sweet and delicious with orange pulp.

Long-lived and incredibly beautiful, Diospyros kaki (Japanese Persimmon) is a deciduous tree with a spreading crown clothed in glossy, dark green, oval leaves, 8 in. long (20 cm). They turn yellow, orange or reddish-purple in the fall, creating a glorious display.

Diospyros kaki seedlings are the preferred rootstocks for persimmon cultivars. They develop long taproots with few fibrous laterals, and rootstock cultivars have been selected that produce vigorous, uniform seedlings.

Kuro Gaki Colet receptionat in bune conditii, planta la fel. Este de un an cu tulpina altoiului verde ca in titlu, inaltime aproximativ 35-40 cm.

Fruit mid-season, early flowering, good size, conical and ribbed, it is a beautiful yellow-orange. The skin is thin, light and creamy flesh is soft, tasty and pleasant, the taste is good, their ability to dry is good. The fruit are of an astringent type.
