Kuhio Beach was just across the Kalakaua Ave from our hotel, seems to be a popular place for locals and tourist alike. It has a seawall that creates an area of semi-protected waters for families to swim in its clean crystal waters.

This highly popular beach is nicknamed “ Kūhiō Ponds” because the beach is divided by two concrete walls that stretch 40 years into the ocean. The result is a calm swimming enclosure that is ideal for children and families.

Kuhio Beach, also known as the Ponds, is a semi-protected beach park situated along the stretch of Waikīkī coastline. Originally owned by Prince Kuhio and his wife, the beach access was turned over to the state following his death in 1922.
