Aug 10, 2021 · Knock sensors actually sense pre-detonation and cause the DME to pull timing to avoid knock. When they are functioning- just on the edge of sensing knock- they are working properly. The are NOT intended to 'sense knock and shut down the engine' When a KS goes bad, the DME sets a code and retards the engine operation to protect the motor.

Customer: I'm getting codes P0332 & P0327 - Knock Sensor both banks simultaneously even after changing out both sensors with OEM sensors and new wiring harness.

Customer: i have 2003 silverado just replaced both knock sensors and wiring harness, but still get a code for low input voltage on both sensors. trucks runs great till the code resets then it starts ticking and gas millage goes to about 10 mpg.
