May 4, 2021 · Klon is the brand, so both Centaur and KTR are models of Klon. The Centaur gets the honor of having “Klon” used as shorthand to refer to it, specifically, but that does not make the KTR a Klone. It does, indeed, say “Klon” on the KTR’s underside.

Mar 22, 2016 · Have both a KTR and Centaur. They sound almost identical but the feel is a bit different. I am happy to bring my KTR for jam sessions and it does the job just fine. The Centaur definitelly has the edge. The KTR is what got me to love the Klon Sound. The Centaur is what got me to sell al my other drive pedals.

Oct 24, 2021 · The original Klon pedal is a fantastic sounding pedal to my ears. I remember when it first came out, it was listed for around $275.00 or so in that area and I thought it was expensive then.

May 12, 2022 · It is a great gateway drug to the world of Klon and it is a very good sounding pedal. I've seen thje SF on a lot of gigging pedalboards. A more versatile Klon-ish sound pedal is the Keeley Oxblood. The Oxblood is my favorite OD these days; I can get Klon sounds and so much more. I'm amazed people don't talk about this pedal a lot more.

May 12, 2022 · As for Klon(e)s: Not a great natural match with mids-boosted voice amps (a lot of Marshall’s, their clones, Fender Bassman, etc.) So, it always surprises me when tone conscious guitarists lose track of the the matching of the inherent EQ structures of pedals with amps.
