Aug 27, 2019 · COM3 tends be be an internal modem or other internal device, it is unlikely to be the VAG KKL cable. We have quite a few customers using KKL interfaces with ECUexplorer. From memory, it only works with non-CAN Subaru models after the MY2000 facelift and won't work with any earlier cars.

Mar 27, 2024 · Given what has been stated here, the owner of the KKL wire needs to work with his supplier to get it up and running. @SaVAGeSoot has quoted correctly that Ross-Tech does not help get these old systems going. The user has to do that on their own. As I have written, contact the seller of the KKL wire and see what help they will offer.

Dec 16, 2022 · Your VAG KKL may also work with VCDS-Lite but if you’re wishing to use VCDS on anything reasonable recent (model years within the last 15 years) I’d strongly recommend you get a current Ross-Tech interface.

May 9, 2024 · I'm using VCDS-Lite with a KKL cable. I can and have re-coded other modules with this setup. I even tested changing the washer fluid option in the last decimal place of the instrument cluster. That worked. What I cannot do is change the first two decimal places.
