Oct 23, 2020 · Kiya and her daughter have a different naming convention, titles and most crucially no mention at all of Neferneferuaten-Nefertiti. The name of Kiya’s daughter although incomplete can only fit with one known princess - Baketaten - due to space. In all scenes with Kiya or usurped the early Aten name is used.

Apr 20, 2021 · Depictions of Kiya have the Aten name in its earlier form, so she must have been out of the picture before year 9 - definitely out of the picture by year 12. Not impossible that one of her daughters was Baketaten, as this princess was a king's daughter but not named as a daughter of Nefertiti or Tiye.

Dec 29, 2024 · Kiya, of course, could have been Tut’s mother herself. But she is not mentioned - by that name at least) in Huya’s tomb, which, of course, proves nothing. Though if Kiya was a sister of Akhenaten, the omission might seem odd.

Dec 29, 2024 · To see Kiya in a Aten scene facing Akhenaten under the rays of the Aten - where only Nefertiti is ever depicted so - might suggest she was an important female, not just some commoner. (I currently speculate Nefertiti is a scion of the royal family, too, perhaps a daughter of a brother of Amenophis III?)

5 days ago · Allen says there used to be an inscription in the coffin that says ‘mery waenra’. Thus is not in a cartouche, but it apparently refers to Kiya. Making it an epithet of Kiya’s as far as I can see. Or, at least, a term to describe Kiya in Akhenaten’s eyes. So we see a term - or epithet - that she shared with Nefertiti.

The most troubling detail that remains a thorn in the side of my theory, and perhaps Dodson's too, is that graffiti from the Sinai?, where we read Nefertiti as still Great Royal wife in year 16 of Akhenaten.
