Under the five-year agreement, Raytheon will produce and deliver up to 8,000 KIV-77 applique crypto computers for Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment.
Its innovative multi-channel design allows KIV-7M users to replace two key legacy devices with one KIV-7M, thus recovering valuable space in fixed shelter environments and reducing weight for mobile applications. Each channel is independently configurable and able to operate in full duplex mode at 50Mbps in each direction.
Information was requested on small size, weight, and power (SWaP) cryptographic devices, such as miniaturized KIV-77 or KIV-78 equivalents, for Mode-5 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponders and radios for use in small UAV applications.
