Under the five-year agreement, Raytheon will produce and deliver up to 8,000 KIV-77 applique crypto computers for Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment.

Its innovative multi-channel design allows KIV-7M users to replace two key legacy devices with one KIV-7M, thus recovering valuable space in fixed shelter environments and reducing weight for mobile applications. Each channel is independently configurable and able to operate in full duplex mode at 50Mbps in each direction.

Information was requested on small size, weight, and power (SWaP) cryptographic devices, such as miniaturized KIV-77 or KIV-78 equivalents, for Mode-5 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponders and radios for use in small UAV applications.

Mar 30, 2010 · Raytheon Co. (RTN) said it has delivered the first of the KIV-77 Mode 4/5 crypto applique computers to the U.S. Air Force more than 60 days ahead of contract schedule. The delivery was the first of a five-year, indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity agreement.

This U.S. Air Force award brings Raytheon's orders for the KIV-77 to more than 3,600 units, including the program's low rate initial production phase under which approximately 1,000 KIV-77 units were delivered ahead of contract schedule.
