If anything it's more accurate to predict that Kiryu (as a playable character) won't die until the final cutscenes after beating the final boss.

Jan 22, 2024 · Kiryu dying in front of Haruka feels almost traditional at this point. In the end it doesn't matter if Kiryu dies, I've seen it all before and he'll be back when he's needed. Be nice if they threw a Haruka kidnapping in there for old time's sake.
