Dewdrop Campground sits on the Kinzua Arm of the Allegheny Reservoir in northwest Pennsylvania, offering a popular getaway for boaters and families. This large campground offers 74 reservable family campsites that include a picnic table, fire ring and tent pad.

The Kinzua Point Information Center boasts an impressive view of the reservoir. Two popular trails nearby include the Jakes Rock Extreme Mountain Biking Trails, and the shorter Rimrock Hiking Trail.

Completed in 1965 by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the 25-Mile elongated lake fills nearly 100 miles of forested shoreline. Recreational opportunities at Kinzua are legendary: picture a sparkling lake surrounded by forest and you have the perfect setting for your next vacation.

Wander on hardened paths through the woods to the overlook. Stand on the rock outcrop to see expansive views of Jackson Bay on the Allegheny Reservoir, Kinzua Dam and the surrounding forest. As you walk, look for the wide array of fungus in multiple colors that grows along the path.

Aug 26, 2024 · Jakes Rocks Overlook is located on the southeastern shores of the Allegheny Reservoir, 15 miles east of downtown Warren, PA. The road up to Jakes Rocks turns off of Route 59, the road along the southern side of the lake, just before the one bridge crossing the lake (if coming from Warren).

If you are in the Warren, PA area, I would recommend you make time for the Kinzua Dam. An entire town was flooded to make the lake above the dam, and control the river level below the dam. Plenty of parking and many outstanding photo opportunities.

Rimrock Overlook offers a stunning view of Kinzua Bay, which extends southwest from the main body of the Allegheny Reservoir. This scenic vista sits atop large boulders, with special viewing areas with protective handrails.

Enjoyed walking around and through the boulders along the top of the mountain. You'll find some beautiful views of the lake down below. You can take your car right to some nice overlooks that give you a great view of Kinzua Dam from above.
