Anna Christina Nobre FBA, MAE, fNASc (known as Kia Nobre; [1] born 1963) is a Brazilian and British cognitive neuroscientist working at Yale University in New Haven, CT, USA. Nobre is a Wu Tsai Professor at Yale University, where she directs the Center for Neurocognition and Behavior at the Wu Tsai Institute .

We combine behavioral methods (psychophysics, eye tracking, virtual reality) with state-of-the-art non-invasive techniques (magneto- and electroencephalography, magnetic-resonance imaging, brain stimulation) to investigate brain activity and performance.

Kia Nobre, a preeminent cognitive neuroscientist at Oxford, will join Yale University in July 2023 as a Wu Tsai Professor in the Department of Psychology, an Associate Director of the Wu Tsai Institute (WTI), and the Director of WTI's Center for Neurocognition and Behavior.

My current research examines how the brain prioritises and selects information from the sensory stream and from memories at various time scales to form psychological experience and guide behaviour.

Nov 17, 2021 · Professor Kia Nobre’s career has been shaped by several turning points (or "early life crises", as she calls them), but curiosity has been a constant driving force since she was a child. Her interest for the human mind was sparked when poor medical judgements left her baby brother with cerebral palsy and unable to see or hear.
