The Mitsubishi Ki-33 (キ33, Ki-sanjūsan) was an experimental monoplane fighter aircraft designed for the Japanese Imperial Army. Two prototypes flew in 1936 but the design never entered production.

Mitsubishi, busy turning the Ka-14 into the A5M, submitted a minimally changed aircraft as the Ki-33, this being defeated by Nakajima's competing aircraft, which was ordered into service as the Ki-27.

In response to a 1935 request by the Japanese Army for a new monoplane fighter design, Mitsubishi developed the Ki-33. The design was essentially a upgraded version of the older Ki-18 design. Two prototype aircraft were built in mid-1936.

As the Ki-33, the modified fighter was powered by a Nakajima Ha-l-Ko engine rated at 745hp at 3700m and enclosed by a broader-chord cowling. An aft-sliding part-canopy was added, the aft fuselage decking was raised and the vertical tail surfaces were modified.
