Jul 10, 2013 · the alternate functions work correctly [ eg move right, move left, move up/ down, home, end, etc]. Now the interesting part: If I press Num Lock on my kb, 0-9 does not work. But if I click on Num Lock of OSK, the numbers get entered. It seems my kb does the numerical locking correctly but does not unlock it.

Sep 12, 2020 · Your suggestion might switch the Num Lock to ON but my Dell does this on start up anyway. The problem is that I accidentally turn it off while typing and this has not changed with your suggestion. By the way, the original number in the Reg Editor's field was 2147483648.

I had originally posted a temporary fix for the Number Lock Keypad problem where number pads for Windows 10 machines were just not working at all. I have now discovered the fix for this issue which was actually right underneath our noses.

Jun 6, 2013 · I had this same problem with my new laptop. It turns out that the numlock key is a dual function key (on my laptop anyway). To turn number lock on, I must hold the shift key at the same time. Any other time I hit the key, number lock will turn off and scroll lock will turn on.
