Feb 7, 2025 · I lost one of my key fobs for my 2020 Ram 3500 That has the Cummins HO diesel engine. I considered buying one online that's OEM, but an auto locksmith would need to program it. Does anyone know if diesel trucks require a different fob than gasoline trucks, or are they interchangeable with proper programming? Any helpful input would be appreciated.

Mar 10, 2013 · Both Key Fobs were doing nothing. No beeps, no unlocking and no starting. This sounded like some bizarre Contra move but I gave it a shot and to my suprise, it worked! Thank you so much for the advice. I had to make sure I was already in the truck when I manually unlocked the doors because I was setting off my alarm.

Sep 14, 2024 · I used one of these. Ground off the metal key blade and programmed it to my truck with AlphaOBD. It has no battery, no buttons, just the embedded RFID chip, which is all that's needed for the ignition/WIN module. I only use the OEM hidden key type FOB, for locking/unlocking the doors and remote start.

Feb 16, 2024 · New fobs came in and I was able to reprogram them. The remote lock works again. I still have an issue with the lock button on the driver door. I might need to replace the switch module. I did try and reprogram the original key which worked but the remote buttons still don't work. So not it will be my valet key lol.

I purchased a pair of aftermarket key fobs and used AlphaObd to pair the key fob to the truck using the instructions on this site. The key fob now starts the truck just fine. My question is about the lock and unlock function on the key fob.
