Oct 3, 2023 · If you weren't aware, the character Cait Sith is very clearly inspired by Irish and Scottish mythology. Over the years, many have been pointing to the fairy creature Cat-sìth, which the character is most likely based on, to claim Cait Sith is actually pronounced "Ket Shee".

Sure, that is a very valid argument. Only problem is, the character is called ケット・シー (ket•to shī) in Japan, which is basically pronounced "Ketshee." The name "Kate" in Japanese is ケイト (ke•i•to). For example, actress Kate Winslet is called ケイト・ウィンスレット (ke•i•to win•su•ret•to) in Japan.
