The M62 is a Soviet-built diesel locomotive for heavy freight trains, exported to many Eastern Bloc countries as well as to Cuba, North Korea and Mongolia. Besides the single locomotive M62 also twin versions 2M62 and three-section versions 3M62 have been built.

K62 class is the Voroshilovgrad Locomotive Factory 's designation for M62 -type diesel locomotives built for the Korean State Railway. In North Korean service, they are designated Sinsŏng -class Korean: 신성, "Nova". [1]
